the boy who lived and never left us

To me, reading is not just something I do as a hobby, but rather a habit I developed since I was a kid. As a huge bookworm, there are many books that I’d love to read again and again. Among the long list of those books, the entire Harry Potter franchise is my go-to re-read. No matter how many times I read it, it still feels like the first time. Written by the British author J.K. Rowling, this series contains seven books. Harry Potter, a boy who leads a miserable life living with his uncle, aunt, and cousin following up his parent’s death, receives a letter on his 11th birthday that changes his life forever. The letter follows his acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and through that, he learns about the Wizarding World, his magical parents, and their heroic death that saved him and the entire Wizarding World, and thus he begins his new life as a blooming wizard. Throughout the series, he discovers his duty of destroying the dark wizard that causes his parents and many others to die, and the series concludes with Harry Potter saving the world by defeating the dark lord.

The magical world that J.K. Rowling brilliantly built is the main reason that I love these books. The backdrop of the entire Wizarding World is so interesting you can’t help but dive deep into it. Not just the gripping story itself, but the things the author highlights like friendship, loyalty, family, always choosing the light over darkness are what make me fall in love every time I read this story. There’s not a dull moment between all the characters, everyone being very unique and authentic with different characteristics, and the subtle and dark humor in Rowling’s writing style shines through the entire series. You may all have watched the movies based on these books, but I kindly request you to give the books a try, because the movies can’t hold a candle to this amazing work of fantasy literature.
